    Unhappy Help needed with conversions

    Hi Martin

I have been promoting all 9 casinos across 2 sites now for about a year now and have yet to make a cent. If I wasn't getting clicks or downloads then I could understand the problem but last month i got over 300 clicks and almost the same downloads and I am on target for the same this month but none of them converting into sign ups or depositors. I would love to know what I am doing wrong, would you mind taking a look at my websites and giving constructive criticism.

I am wandering if it is because they are not dedicated gaming sites... but if that was the case then surely I wouldn't be getting the click through s and downloads.

    That is basically it.

If the visitors coming to your site are not looking for what you are advertising then the conversions will be horribly low.

As far as having a high click-thru rate, when a site has links that are followed all the engines will follow the links, and that will register as clicks from some bots. (this will often also translate to a portion of the download links also being followed by bots)

Yes you may get the occassional player here or there throughout the year, but if the traffic is not targeted, you may have to consider if advertising more targeted to the types of visitors your site gets would make you more money.

Thanks for the speedy email Martyn, I really appreciate the advice and will be working on it this weekend.

Also... thanks Rick for the advice, I use The Inquiring Mind because of the high number of visitors but you are right, it needs to be a dedicated site, you have given me some good ideas between the both of you and I have an idea how I can fix this... I will let you know if it works

I think you and Rick said it. You should get a new domain with a new hosting plan and seperate all of that other stuff. When I first started I was all over the place as well. It is better to have a site that promotes specially microgaming slots for UK players versus just a slots site. if you decide to get a new domain try to narrow it down, I think you will see better results.

Another thing is it takes a while to build up a player base, it also has to do with you advertising budget as well and how much time you put into your sites. I did not get paid a penny my first year.

Well a specific site for only MGS slots is a good idea, but it is also ok to mix providers.

I think the most important thing is, to narrow down a niche or verticle.

If you will be promoting gaming then build a gaming site, if you want to promote real estate or travel, then build a site that focuses on one of those niches. Sure, with some vertisles there is additional advertising then can and does work along side o the niche, but that you can test and determine at a later time.

Now I have seen general sites do ok with pages from different verticles, but if the bulk of your audience is coming to your site with keywords from dozens or more different niches, it will be much more difficult to get any one niche to perform well, but does happen although more rare.
