Gambling Domains: Small clear out of some of the domains we've been hoarding on Dan - see the list here. Prices negotiable, and willing to swap for decent links.

This says they bought it in 2019 and paying for it over four years... which would be until 2023:

Reading between the lines of that article, suggests to me, that GiG wanted to wash their hands of this casino. I'm not au fait with the site's objectives, but I would assume, and take it literally, that the site targeted "highrollers".

That business model worked years ago, when, the competition wasn't off-the-charts. From my own observations with "highroller" players, snagging "whales" years ago wasn't a dream, it was a doable reality. However, the waters are lean, and it seems "whales" are not moving. I would say most casinos are well aware that it's far better to keep their highrollers happy, that risk losing them.

Therefore it seems (if I read between the lines correctly), trying to amass a target market where, the majority of one's catch will be herrings, and not whales, these days, maybe a bad business decision and one which will spell one's demise.

    Edit:
The other sinister conclusion looms... Did GiG keep the player DB and market to it, that would surely upset the apple cart.

I am almost sure that a new casino will be built under this domain. Let me guess, this closure is there to "get rid" of losses.

And if the info is correct they're probably still on the hook for about €3.5m to GiG. Smart move by GiG!

The cynical side of me thinks that's a massive possibility. You'd like to think removal of the players from any GiG marketing would be part of the terms though.

Of course, it's closing! Who's going to be playing on the casino that died a couple of years ago after Elmont Gaming redesigned it. Used to be a spot-on casino when GIG was running it.

Wow, actually I'm quite surprised about this closure because this brand got tons of investment from Ellmount side and after the purchase I thought it's a good brand that they are going to bring it to new levels..
I also think that the domain/name "high roller" is really strong but not for an online casino, maybe for an affiliate site..I'm a strong believer that a casino name can do lots of damage and seal it's fate for the worst and I really think that this have something to do with this brand closure.

But what's really annoyying here is that no announcement was sent to affiliates

One of the biggest flops ever.

GIG announced it as a game changer. But it was way too much "gamification". Gamblers want to gamble, not play crappy games the whole day to get some useless coins.

The name certainly is nice but a casino needs more than that to be a success. A great name doesn't make it a success, but a crappy name can make it a flop.

The high roller market is 1% of traffic, a lot of these brands go all in with big investments before the product is even making money.. using the word high roller would alienate a lot of the bread and butter players
