Default Hits From Instagram? Any Way To Figure Out Where They Come From?

We have been getting some views from Instagram lately. Though since we do not have Instagram for our business, we are curious where these hits come from exactly.

Is there any way to sleuth out where Instagram referral traffic is coming from? GA/GSC is no help...

Instagram uses noreferrer on the links so it won't show up in any reports (eg: analytics or server stats).

I'm not aware of any other way of finding them either (searching the link doesn't work).

Yes, many sites use noreferrer these days. However, even still, sometimes the links sneak through GA at times. Browser malfunctions perhaps. Has yet to happen with Instagram and show us any clues where these hits are coming from.

Frustrating. We would love to get in contact with the "influencers" (I hate that ******* term) who are sharing our content.

    What you could try is....

    Go to Instagram
Type in poker is the search box
It will give you a drop down of all the poker related accounts (for example the first one is Pokerstars, Daniel Negreanu is there, one of your lesser competitors, etc etc)
Then click through each one, glance through the 'posts' and see if there's an image that looks like it's been lifted off Profrb

Of course, that's assuming it's a poker related account that shared it, and it could easily be something else.

Will take 30 mins prob, I saw about 30 poker related accounts, some with thousands of posts but if they're recent referrals you might expect to see them in the most recent

I have exactly the same thing and not only with Instagram.

It means somebody shared something together with your content and visitors coming through there. It's might be even pinned somewhere, and to find i guess Chaumi's way is the best.

Buy the way, I do often the same thing and don't give 3 ***** that they are my competitors, if i like their content; i share it.

Definitely not this, as we do not use Instagram for business at all. Good thought though, thanks for sharing.

There are a few sites that scrape instagram and provide an accountless version, I wonder if those would have a more useful search function?

Just google "instagram viewer" and there are a couple. They seem to constantly change their name though, guessing they have to each time instagram gets wind of it.

The same. Also clicks from Twitter and Facebook
Looks like bot activity. It has nothing to do with natural sharing
