    Default How about .info domains?

    Hi,

I would just like to hear of any experiences you may have with developping .info domains in terms of SEO? Do you avoid working with .info domains? Asking because I do have some nice kwd domain where all other top level extensions are gone.

    Thank you!

Personally no, not for me. Google won't penalise any domain extension just because of its name, but people themselves might be less likely to trust a .info than a .com, .co.uk etc.

Who knows if google does have preference for some domains over others but of course in UK you will see more .co.uk domains ranking. You don't see as many .info domains rank as they used to probably because many of the .com versions were up first and .info were used by SEO guys for exact match domains.

Thanks guys for the input. The domain name in this case is actually pokerbonuscodes info and I am really not sure if we should spend our time developping this into something quality, thats why I opened this thread in the first place. Thanks again.

I really like my free slots dot info but you need to do some research if the traffic is both acceptable regarding the quantity and quality of the traffic (returns) vs the money/time you want to invest.

I would start a few pages and wait if it ranks for some keywords you're after.

I would rather a .me or .ag or one of those random 2 letter TLDs than I would a .info. They just look cheap and spammy to me and I don't think I've ever seen a site using a .info that I considered high quality. I would personally avoid using it but obviously the choice is yours.

I've seen the odd one or two decent ranking info domains in various niches, but I think that's more to do with people not being willing to put the required investment (time/money) in them to really get them cranking.

There's also the CTR to consider and if users are less likely to click a .info than a .com then that's definitely a good reason to stay away. No idea if that's the case though.

I prefer .com usually. That's always a best option

No question .com to be preferred, guess everyone agrees here. Question is just if it makes sense investing time in developping a good .info emd which pokerbonuscodes info is in my opinion.

Not always. It all depends on your niche. If you're targeting the US and/ or a global market then yes .com is a good choice. If you're targeting specific markets then country specific domains would be the best option.

@Ixian, Agree on that Well yes it depends on the niche...but if i am targeting global audience, i prefer .com instead on .org or .info...i googled some other discussions happening around and went through some information on wiki. The the common opinion I saw was people say .com or .info doesnt matter much as long as you have a proper keyword on the domain name...but when we think in terms or techical aspects like discussed in this thread, i am now getting a biased opinion

@sportsfreak, yeah i get your point.. ll do some more research and get back..
