Default How did you guys do it?

    Hey,

This is just a thread started most of curiosity, since I am far from there yet.

If you have a website in one language and want to have the same site, but in another language aswell. What is the process?

The technical stuff I can probably figure out when it's time, just wanted to know how your process went when you started making your site in another language.

Please let me know your experience with this, thanks!

    Thank you, this I understand.

I was more interested in the process on how people tackled this project and thoughts about the whole process, strategy and so on.

Depends on the size of your site, but I use native speakers.. some things cannot be translated, also different programs are required.. realy it's a case of creating a whole new site under a subdomain or directly using the same template.. you just need to translate the strings and create all new content in said language

I did a lot of languages at one point. Mostly asked people to rewrite articles in their own style, using my originals as a guide, rather than translate.

Seemed to work, out of date these days...

We had started off by using a translation agency at first to get all our static content translated, then we went on freelancer.com to find native speaking translators to translate our posts as they get released.

This is a costly procedure, and Translation Management is also time consuming, so I would suggest focusing on your target market first, and then branching off into new languages when you are used to the way it works.

    Thanks a lot, Keith!

It's interesting. I mean, building up one site and "content-the-****-out-of-it" is hard, but I mean going over the procedure again and just translating everything will be very time-consuming as well.

Okay, let me ask you guys a question.

What is the best strategy: To build it up in native language and then after some year or something translate it in english or from the beginning double create every single content first in native and then in english.

Pros and cons. Let's get the discussion going

I would put the translated content on a new website on another domain. I would also ask native speakers to translate and best of all, people with feeling with the subject. In that case, you can ask them to write the story in their own words instead of translating word by word without having a clue what is a slot or what is the importance of 21 at Blackjack. Also, try to get them delivering the content publishing ready. Otherwise, you will lose quite some time with editing the content before publishing it.

Of course, focus will optimise your earnings. It's better to do one thing very well than 10 things not even the half. But, especially in gambling, it's also good to spread your risks. What if the market you're working on full time for years, is just closing and you remain without any revenue stream? Are things to think about.

I will answer by telling you what I am doing. There are two different ways:

    1. Hire someone to translate your current content - main pages and the reviews. The process with the reviews about the different casinos, poker or bookmakers is hard to do, because most of them offers different bonuses for almost each country. This would be the hard part - the chapters with the bonuses should be appropriate for the specific country!

    2. Hire very good content writers and send them some content structure (no translation of your current content!). Let's say if you want a review of Bet365, then just tell them that you need a review about Bet365 but don't forget to mention the structure.

    Example:

    1. Introduction (or About Bet365)
    2. How to register at Bet365
    3. Betting markets
    4. 100% bonus for new customers
    5. In-Play feature
    5.1 Live stream option
    6. Cash out
    7. Deposits and withdrawals
    8. Mobile version and applications
    9. Final verdict and rating

This is my example of how you can do it. The content with your pages should be the same. Just think about your content and how you will want to be structured. The more you are detailed to the content writers , the more you will be satistified.

*I personally hired people or companies from Freelancers but be careful - Hire only writers which has SUPER rating and many projects behind their portfolio

I vouch for keeping the multiple languages on separate domains too.
Better for user experience, SEO and easier to implement technically too.

Worked with Wordpress plugins like WPML and qTranslate before and they are a nightmare to integrate properly with themes and plugins.

Keeping the languages on their own domains and perhaps create a network of sites interlinked are much more neat.

I actually checked with Anthony specifically on this and there were some posts that were removed by him since Non Sponsor's are restricted from making posts of a promotional nature and advertising for affiliates, when not addressing specific questions or requests for details for programs that might fit their offerings..

The member in question has been provided with the details of sponsorship etc, and if anyone has specific questions, you can contact them through their account here.
