    Question How do you typically drive traffic to your website?

    Three weeks ago, for our weekly poll, I used a question from an annual survey of affiliates conducted by the folks who run the affiliate summit conference (a general affiliate conference, without a gaming focus, held in the US twice a year). You can see the report covering their 2013 survey here: 2013 Affiliate Summit AffStat Report.

    For this week's GPWA poll, I'm going to use a second question from their survey. That means once again we can compare our results looking at gaming affiliates to the results from a broader affiliate audience.

    Here is the question I chose, and the frequency different answers were given by the general affiliate audience in the 2013 survey:

    I am totally rubbish at doing anything other than writing content, getting it on a page, and SEOing it to the best of my ability. Any dabble in anything else has always (so far) been fruitless. Probably because when you have a day job too (and other responsibilities) there is just not enough time to go into it as deep as is needed....plus of course there will be areas where I just haven't been clever enough, understood the opportunity well enough, or focused enough before writing it off.

    But we all make mistakes, eh.

    Same for me! SEO and lots of fresh and unique content. Would be interesting to try out e-mail markering but dont have the time right now.

    Writing content (other) and relying on word-of-mouth ... repeat visitors telling friends.

    I'm told that we also do well in Search Engines placement too - and certainly we do basic site optimisation - but there is none of that slavish following of fads or doing ANY of that stuff that is flavour of the month and then Panda-ed against two month later.

    All the hassle with SEO is not for me. Some years ago I fully switched to paid advertising, getting instant results and over time you'll build a good number of returning visitors.

    For me, it's a combination of this and that, but predominantly, SEO. Most paid ads are over priced and deliver poor traffic quality.

    Finding good and affordable ad networks indeed require serious funds, but once you've found the ones that work for you, it isn't that expensive anymore.

    That is the best SEO by far.

    With the right SEO of your website you will get lots of visitors and make them subscribe to your website...then use email marketing tools to promote and retain traffic..

    I do SEO, social media like facebook and twitter but the main focus is on SEO because I think itīs the traffic with the best quality if you target the right keywords

    I am using all SEO and social media tactics for getting traffic. But I especially take care about the areas which I need to cover to get traffic. I work only for those areas from which I can get traffic.

    as all knows search engine optimization is the best technique to get best clients or visitors also content is king also Email marketing works but i never tried much i will try soon
