How to get rid of ghost traffic

90% of my traffic is some kind of bot traffic and I have a strong hint that it has an impact on lowering my search traffic during those days when it goes out of control. I know I can ignore the IP in the Google Analytics tool, but then there is a question: Ho do I find out the IP of those bots? Any advise?

i have same problem. I receive 3k bot traffic daily and it lowers visit duration time to 20 secs for whole Web site which ends up lower serp result.

My hosting provider engineer told me that its some kind of ddos attack. You should set up cloudflare first. Then create firewall rule. For My case engineer told one of My Page gets the most traffic and created firewall rule for that. Firewall rule is like this : choose uri path option and enter the uri of the Page gets most bot traffic. And select captcha.

This Fw rule stops ALL bot traffic including Google bots which is not good because your selected Page Will soon be deindexed. Thats why you should include AND parametre adding rule that COUNTRY NOT IN USA (this is for Google bots)
