    Default Too many ads?

I've recently decided to try my hand at a little PPC for my site, mostly for keyword research and conversion rate testing.

However, after getting my gambling licence approved by google, they won't allow my site to run due to 'over saturation' of ads.

They specifically pointed at the Recommended Free Bets sidebar on the right hand side of my site www.footballbetprofit.com

I don't think that sidebar is particularly overbearing and would rather not remove it so thought I'd get some opinions. Are there too many ads on my site?

Any general feedback on the site is welcome, whether positive or negative!

Personally I don't think there is to much ads on the sidebar, maybe because I have seen worse, so that's fair in my opinion.

However, you need to remember what you really need to achieve.
Having a nice sidebar on the site or letting the PPC to generate you some cash when you will receive traffic?

If I were you, I would consider doing some changes

IMO there are too many ads in your sidebar. Ads should be included within useful content otherwise readers tend to ignore them. I would use a banner rotator in a prime spot within your sidebar amongst other useful content.

Thanks for your feedback, I've changed the site now to show a single randomised betting site in the sidebar. What do you think?

Yep looks better now, checked your old way on the web archive site and I do think they were a bit in your face. I've seen other sites with a few free bets in the sidebar but I think the issue with yours was they were taking up quite a lot of page real estate with large images and large action buttons.

Good move IMO - in the past I've had a similar experience. At first sight it looks as though a sidebar only contributes to a couple of adverts. But a crawler/bot will see outbound links as a whole number. If you multiply the amount of pages you have, by the amount of ads in your sidebar, it provides an overall number of outbound links from your website. That seems to be the first trigger and probably encourages the PPC team investigate further if you have a high number of outbound.

Yeah that's a very good point about the amount of ads adding up across all my pages. I think the site looks a bit neater now too.
