how many articles per day are enough to keep visitors interested and keep the traffic flowing?
how many articles per day are enough to keep visitors interested and keep the traffic flowing?
One a day would work at a minimum.
My favourite blog is a blog about Arsenal Football Club called arseblog.com
He only writes once per day - but it is always posted up by 11am his time - EVERY DAY.
Of course it depends on how wide your subject matter is, if you are covering many topics then as well a once per day miinimum you probably need to make sure that you cover all your main areas once per week as well.
That may not be additional posting if you can manage it within your daily limit.

+1 for daily... if your visitors come back and see nothing new too often they'll soon get out of the habit. Guess the caveat that this should not be the same old regurgitated news that everyone else has could be tagged on too. No point publishing trash for the sake of publishing after all!

thank you guys for taking the time to answer, I definitely intend to add articles daily, just want to make sure i dont end up doing too much or too little work. obviously time is a precious commodity and i dont want to spend all day writing articles but i want to put in enough time that it will add value to the site
gooner its really nice seeing you around, your site was the first sports betting related site i ever visited many many years ago, when i was first getting into the subject, and obviously before i every knew what an affiliate was. its great to see you being active in the community
Gooner brought up a very good point about precise timing. One article per day is pretty much worthless if your publishing hours are all over the place.
Some time ago I was regularly publishing a "daily" betting ticket before 11 AM and an "evening" betting ticket. The early article was very popular while the late one was barely even read by anyone.
Ok, you can get a loyal following among night owls, which is pretty cool, but if you want traffic you'll publish early.

i do post two articles a week, am i going on right path.
If you can post an interesting article everyday good for you. If you don't have anything interesting to post today rather save it for tomorrow.
Some great advice here. I've always published articles every now and then, just to add content and come up for more search terms. It works, but building a loyal reader base via regular articles sounds like a much better plan.
I think it depends massively on the topic and niche of the site - some sites just don't need updating that frequently (think wizardofodds.com). I also think that you should only be posting if you have something interesting/useful etc.. don't fill your site up with fluff and filler just for the sake of it.
For me it varies between multiple times a day (for bigger sports sites) through to once or twice a week for more niche sites all the way to 'when they need updating' for micro niche sites or ones that focus solely on evergreen content.

Those are two different things, one is writing articles for Google, the other is writing articles for people. I'm not arguing for or against any of these, as I know from experience a first-time customer in gambling is better than a loyal customer who's already a member of all sportsbooks. You got a loyal member but his value quickly diminishes to $0 per month.
I just want to emphasize that many webmasters - if not the majority of them - make the mistake of writing for Google instead of wanting to engage the audience which is browsing Google. I guess the correct answer would be the golden middle, writing an article for humans and paying attention to SEO so the article reaches a broader audience.

As long as you are the one who provided the initial link to the sportsbook and the player is using on a rev-share plan then there is still plenty of value to be had. My most valuable players are players who have been playing long-term and are still active with an old account.
A big part of our strategy is to provide regular betting information about our betting partners to existing readers, with the overall aim being that the readers choose to use THAT betting account to do their business.
IMO - getting an existing player with an account to place a bet is far easier than getting a new player to join up and deposit somewhere new.
I understand your point. But I argue that you'd keep generating revenue from that player even if he never visited your site again.
I'm mixing rev share and CPA so my strategy naturally has to be focused towards new visitors.

Depends on your topics but focus on quality first.
Exactly, quality over quantity. If you have nothing to write about, then just don't.
If your site is about soccer where something is happening every day, then I don't see a problem with an article a day if it's not only a single paragraph.
I agree with one per day would be a good idea.
The article should be not too short when you don't have much to write about, but contain relevant information.
If depends on the content that you provide. If your visitors are so much interested in what you are writing then any article could bring them back to your site - like they are only waiting for you to post new things. One article per day is of course a good thing.
