How much time do you devote to affiliate program relationships each month?

It takes time to effectively manage relationships with affiliate programs. There are a myriad of activities involved from changing banners and links, to updating specials, to tracking revenue earned, to sorting out where money came from, and following up if payments don't arrive as expected.

How much time do you spend each month on these activities.

In the case of Casino City, managing affiliate relationships is nearly a full-time for Rebecca, and sorting out the revenues and payments is nearly a full-time equivalent job for members of our accounting department. So we're definitely at over 160 hours a month.

With all of constant changes in the industry it seems like it's never ending.

Especially now with all of the payment changes, updates we living in the U.S have had to endure lately. Just trying to remember and track who has the new payment info, who can send this way or that way is a full time event, then tracking the payments and bugging (hahahaha) the heck out of those who should've paid but haven't.......never mind keeping up with new promos, banners and casinos and then updating your pages to reflect the new changes.

We definately work for our money especially if you have more than one site to keep up with...

I have a very select few I have regular relations with. perhaps a mistake with exception to those i enjoy such relations with.

I am finding a severe drop-off with one ...... which really hurts but no answers to speak of?

i am now reading about how if US regulates that yahoo, google and the likes of youtube may start their own Microgaming casinos.

while content may still be a matter .... for the most of us ..... the old days are gone. I would go as far as to say that it is even true for CC.

even with quality content .... its hard to argue with a player joining a casino thru such proven entities as yahoo or google that offers same games (Microgaming) as others ........ and not expecting better treatment from such .


much of this will come as a shear measure of the casinos doing a better job in consumer affairs ...... but it will also reflect badly on those of us who have tried so hard to find satisfaction for players ....

I'm very depressed. I expected Vegas to come online. but thought we'd .... many of us such as CC ... and myself though in smaller aspects .. of having a chance since we had the head start. Never considered google entering into the mix .....

I'd say for many of the older casinos using Microgaming..... and affs ... its going to be a matter of how player treatment is assessed in the coming months before this may happen.

Part of the problem is payment / deposit methods. they disappear as quickly as appear . ...... and we are left looking bad when it doesn't work. and that doesn't even address the personal situations that arise and are not addressed in a personal. ....... satisfying way by individual casinos we promote ....

This is another very difficult question. I tend to have months where I spend a lot of time building new relationships... and months where I just touch base with a few people.

Honestly, I'm so focussed on getting more content (and improving rankings/traffic) into my casino site I've pretty much been asking aff managers to schedule a meeting with me in Montreal around CAC.

I voted 6-9 hours, because if I average it out, I figure I spend about a full day's work each month on the emails, stats, and such. Some months much more... some less.

Hi all,

on a further note: I need quality aff manager relations to impose the kind of relations i expect and I expect my players expect ...... in order for me to make a difference. I know right now CR / RA is lacking .... but on the back end of player satisfaction ........ they have satisfied every single problem I've brought them over 7 years.......

that to me means a lot and reason I've stuck with them thru thick and now thin.

I agree with many of your posts BB...and I do agree when/if regulation happens many many people are SOL

But with google and Yahoo. Here's my thing they are freaking huge, do you really think they would take better care of tehir players than say that of Poker Stars or some of the larger more established with great Public relations against a monster giant company...that may attract masses like never seen before (even at Party)

how would a company of tihs size and quite possibly this many people be able to treat the players as individuals .....or a paying customer to say the least.

I have two AM's that literally could just discuss about anything. Where as another AM MSN me about once a week to discuss results.....gets kind of old fast.

I think establishing a friendship at teh very least shows integrity and honesty.
