How serious do you consider Gmail vs Domain emails?

When you receive e-mails from “account managers” or like using a Gmail email address versus a domain email how serious do you take the email?

I pretty much ignore any business related emails that end with gmail.com.

it's not difficult to get a domain email, espacially if the company is operating under its own domain, as 100% of them are.

It doesn't represent the company very well if they are using gmail.com or using 3rd parties to do their outreach with gmail.com.

It all feels spammy and scammy, so I steer away.

It depends, if I get an email from an affiliate manager (as pokerface mentioned) and it's from a Gmail address, that's sus.
Otherwise, I am pretty open. For example I often get emails from people interested in publishing paid posts, and these are often from Gmail addresses. I still engage with these and often end up selling a post or two.

I would not deal.with any account manager using a Gmail address due to security / safety reasons. Never come across any using Gmail either.

I always have to laugh when "SEO experts" contact me using Gmail.

Got to agree with the sentiments above, anyone can get a gmail account in a matter of seconds.

Link exchange/guest post emails etc from a gmail account are just the same, in fact the doubt in my mind is that they could even be a google honeytrap although that's a little far-fetched.

For guest posts it's doesn't matter but I would find it strange if an AM contacted through gmail or free email

If it’s an email from an AM, it’s suspicious to me, and the first thing I do is check if I’ve had any prior communication with that person.

If it’s not an affiliate manager and it’s someone offering their services from a Gmail address, I respond regardless of whether I’m interested in their services or not. However, when it comes to guest paid posts, as PaulEchere mentioned, I can sell them without any problem to someone contacting me from a Gmail address as long as they meet certain conditions. But I wouldn’t buy one from someone I don’t know, who doesn’t have a solid reputation, and who isn’t even contacting me from a recognized business domain.

Domain emails certainly look more professional and serious. I find it very hard to trust anyone using a Gmail account and to take them seriously, business wise. Anyone can create a Gmail account and use it for all sorts of purposes (illegitimate is more what I'm leaning towards here).

Although there are people who will use them for legitimate purposes, you can never let your guard down.

It's super easy for anyone to create a Gmail account, so I usually don't pay much attention to business emails from gmail.com addresses. Using a Gmail address can feel unprofessional and sometimes even sketchy. It is not a good way to start a business relationship.

Using a domain-specific email is generally more professional and trustworthy, especially in business. Everyone can create a Gmail!
