How to stop trackback spammers for blogs
Hello guys, maybe you will help me to stop trackback spammers of my blogs.
I have Akismet and Simple Trackback Validation, which block all spam comments and trackbacks and I don't receive any email notifications but the main problem is that I'm still receiving a large amount of hits (200-300 per day). How can I stop them?
I'm trying to find solution through the Google, but haven't yet had any good results.
Thanks.

You can try disabling comments / trackbacks altogether. This will not necessarily have any negative impact on your traffic.

Unfortunately I had the same problem. I couldn't find a way and had to disable comments.
It was a shame though as I had some constructive comments in amongst the rubbish, which I feel helps build a better relationship with visitors and adds more stickiness to the site, but it was just too much work.

I also disabled all comments, and installed another plugin WP Hardened Trackback, now it prevents me from trackback spam, but I'm still receiving hits, hope I won't receive them when search engines reindex my blog.
