    Default HTML Validation and Affiliate Links

    I was just making some changes to my html code and after finishing it I went to check code validity. And guess what - 90% of code errors and warnings came from bookmakers affiliate links.

    Anyone else had this problem and were you able to solve it?

    Yeah I have had this problem with some casinos that I promote, providing they weren't flash banners I simply removed the affiliate programs code and re-created it myself compliant with W3C standards.

    Nowadays I don't look to much into validation but it is second nature to use my own code to insert banners.

    Please don't be too fussed about W3C Compliance

    Many sites ranking Page 1 for very competitive search terms have MANY W3C errors

    you basically just need to escape your special characters....for example most of the affiliate links have '&' in them....you need to convert them to '&amp;' and when it is an image link.....it needs a closing tag.....just before the end parentheses put a slash '/' or just after </img>.......

    Iframes are a different kettle of fish......make sure all tags are lower case.......i usually remove the allowtransparency='true'.....

    A = because it isn't valid
    B = all that does is tell the browser that it is transparent and you can see the background through it if required.....but it kinda defeats the objective of having a banner there in the first place...

    as for the hspace and vspace.....you can get rid of them...not required.....you should find it all validates now....
