Default iGaming vs Forex affiliates — which converts better in emerging markets?

I've been running casino affiliate sites in the CIS/MENA region for a while and recently started looking at Forex affiliate programs as a comparison.
Wanted to get input from people who've worked both verticals.

My observations so far from the iGaming side:

    - Lower barrier to entry for users (small deposits, instant play)
    - Faster conversion cycle — deposit within same session is common
    - Retention is harder — bonus hunters churn quickly
    - RevShare can be very strong long-term if you find loyal players

From what I understand about Forex affiliates:

    - Higher CPA payouts per lead (some programs $300-$800 per depositing trader)
    - Longer conversion cycle — users research more before depositing
    - Regulatory complexity varies a lot by market
    - LTV of a serious trader can be exceptional

The overlap in audience is interesting — users in markets like Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and similar GEOs often show interest in both online gambling and
Forex trading as ways to generate income online.

Has anyone here successfully cross-promoted both verticals to the same audience? Did it help or hurt trust with your readers?

Good breakdown. Having run crypto casino content across CIS/MENA and Central Asia, a few observations from the iGaming side that might add context:
Conversion speed is iGaming's biggest edge. In markets like Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia, mobile-first users decide within a session. Forex requires trust-building over weeks — iGaming captures impulse. For affiliate ROI per click, iGaming wins in these GEOs.
Crypto changes the Forex comparison significantly. In markets where banking is unreliable or USD access is restricted, crypto casinos and crypto Forex platforms appeal to the same user for the same reason — it bypasses the local banking system. The audience overlap is real.
Cross-promotion risk is real too. In my experience, mixing both verticals on the same domain dilutes topical authority for Google and confuses the reader intent signal. Separate domains or at minimum separate content clusters is cleaner.
CIS retention is harder than MENA in casino. Bonus hunting is more prevalent in CIS. MENA players — particularly Gulf markets — tend to have higher LTV when you get them. Different acquisition cost, different lifetime value.
The $300-800 Forex CPA looks attractive but the funnel is longer and compliance headaches in these GEOs are significant. For pure volume and speed, iGaming still wins in emerging markets.
