Default 'Illegal gambling' on the rise in Germany

While the German gambling market continues to grow, a study shows that illegal gambling is still on the rise compared to the regulated market, according to Wirtschaft, a German news website.

In Germany, the gambling market is divided into a state-regulated and a non-regulated. The market volume of unauthorized offers is currently increasing by around 30% annually, according to an industry analysis by the Handelsblatt Research Institute.

    From the article:

The growth of the unregulated market is the dire downside to the previous regulation of the State Treaty on Gambling and the implementing land laws or gambling laws of the countries . . . In order to ensure that the legislation and the enforcement of gambling law are uniformly handled in the 16 federal states, they have concluded a state-state agreement, which in turn is implemented by the state laws.
