    ....lol

As an affiliate, I find this entire thread just short of insulting, in a condescending sort of way.

It's true some affiliates need to be educated... but... the education should start on some affiliate company's, some affiliate managers, etc.

    Lesson number 1: Don't Shave.
Lesson number 2: When an affiliate ask for a xml feed dont say "a text link is not enough?"
Lesson number 3: Giving a extra cash bonus to affiliates bring more traffic than ask every single day for better ad positions
Lesson number 4: Update affiliate reports more than 1x daily (especially traffic report), It's always good for testing marketing experiences on small niches like gambling...
    Lesson number 5: ....

"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change"- Darwin

Hence the ability to adapt. Education is a necessity and beneficial (I have learned a lot from online webinars), but the ability to adapt is crucial! In every field of business not just this one.

Knowledge is just potential power. If you do not succeed in transferring it in results, you only know a lot about ______ (replace with niche) and that's about it.

I don't want to sound rude, but 1 specific example in such article will grab a lot more readers and attention, than general talk. Some like (and that's an advice to all affiliates!) "Do not be afraid to try something different and fail". Based on trail and error you build up knowledge from first experience and that's much more valuable than a third opinion, advice or suggestion.
