Unfortunately, this latest "migration" notice is just another chapter in a decade-long book of how PokerStars (Stars Affiliate Club) treats its partners. They have consistently proven to be one of the least trustworthy affiliate programs in the industry.

crazy stuff. never thought we would see the day come so soon, but something was definitely on the cards following the latest purges in influencers, streamers etc

The affiliate retreat is not happening in isolation. Over the past year PokerStars has also ended sponsorship deals with long‑serving pros and newly‑signed faces alike.High‑stakes pro Sam Grafton confirmed in May 2025 that he would no longer represent PokerStars as an ambassador after four years, in what industry coverage called a “spring shake‑up” of the roster.
It began in March, when long‑time Dutch Team Pro Fatima Moreira de Melo was dropped from the team as PokerStars cut back its team of ambassadors and pivoted towards a smaller, more performance‑focused line‑up. Latin American star Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo also parted ways with PokerStars.
Live‑circuit favourite Barny Boatman, signed in spring 2024 off the back of his EPT Paris win, revealed in July 2025 that his one‑year Team Pro contract had not been renewed, joking about “musical differences,” but later suggested that it was a straightforward budget-cutting decision.
On the creator side, long‑time Twitch regular Fintan “easywithaces” Hand announced in November that he had left PokerStars before resurfacing as a WPT Global ambassador, while US‑facing content creator Caitlin Comeskey told followers on New Year’s Eve that her one‑year-stand with the red spade was over.
In January 2026 Lex Veldhuis became the latest big name to depart, as his 17‑year relationship with PokerStars came to an abrupt end. He has continued streaming as a free agent playing on GGPoker, winning the first tournament he played on the site. While not really a surprise, as PokerStars has been cutting back in many areas for several years, it’s now at the point where it’s being seen by many as “the end of an era.”

GGPoker + all the offshore sites must be celebrating right now.

Maybe partypoker is the next big poker site to die...
