Default Steven Corfman ("CityGuard") in Good Spirits after Removal from Hotel Lobby

I want to thank everyone who has expressed their support and concern. I was in temporary pain but did not sustain any injury when being carried out of the lobby. Lou has since apologized in private for the physical threats he made against me, a colleague, and my dad. I was a bit shaken and saddened at the time. But I think it is incredibly important to seize moments of reflection when they present themselves: The following morning I tried to put my best foot forward and let the whole event propel, rather than diminish, the spirit of partnership and collegiality that so many people bring to the industry.

As a community of professionals, I've seen you help one another grow your businesses, help those who have fallen into times of personal struggle, overcome shyness and uncertainty to begin asking questions and learn a new business, giving back to others what you have learned along the way. GPWA members choose to come together and turn competitors into partners, newcomers into colleagues, and strangers into friends.

It can be easy to focus on the negative when faced with problems and hurtful discoveries, losing sight of larger goals. If one piece of good can come out of this incident let it be that it provides an opportunity to reflect on how our actions align with the goals that we value. Open yourself to a new member of the community, write a note on that new idea you had or new technique you tried, reply to that question you saw someone ask even if you have only part of the answer, find a quality program to partner with, ask that question that is on your mind that you were afraid would seem silly. Chances are you'll not only help yourself by jumping in, but help those around you as well.

In sum, I'm doing well, with vision more focused on the future than ever.

If we could just get the world to embrace your attitude.....

What a shining example you are for the next generation of gambling portal webmasters. Well done to Corfman Jr. And good job to Corfman Sr. for raising such a fine man.

I'm glad to see you post sir, and very happy to find out that you are not discouraged from this industry .. if that is so your choice ... by the actions of a select few.

Do not think twice about any threats made for they were likely those of a person who had lost control, lost perspective and I would hope didn't realize what they were saying.

There are far too many witnesses to the recent last events for you to ever have to worry to look over your back. Even a crazed person would realize they'd be the very first the police would go after if something happened to you.

I just wanted to point those facts out because its easy for somebody to tell you its okay ... when its not their butt on the line.

In this case though I'm certain for reasons mentioned ... if not for the right ones ... that you have nothing to worry about.

Yes move forward. Though I might suggest being the scoundrel that I am ... that I'd be working Dad for a big raise ... all things considered.

Good to see your as healthy, thoughtful and ambitious as ever.

    Hey Steven!

Glad you're okay - we were being kept up to date by a number of people after leaving for Bath - last I knew you had just gotten back into the hotel and was worried that the person you were supposed to meet inside would think you had stood him up. I hope you managed to have that meeting later.

There seems to be a bit of confusion though - were you later escorted from the lobby? I assume this took place shortly after we left.

Anyhow, hope all is well - tell your dad he needs to take you to Macau

Glad to hear you are OK.

I tend to avoid Novotels anyway- they fall into the same category as Ryanair on the customer service front..........

Good to see you back, Steven, with your customary positive attitude and optimism.

That's why it was so absurd to hear that it was you who'd been evicted - a less likely trouble maker I couldn't imagine!

Anyway, let's hope others in this industry can take your lead and start moving forward with a spirit of helping every member, rather than just looking for more oportunities to cash in.

    Cheers to you!

Nice to have you back in good health and spirit. Lots of thanks Steven for this post, one of the best I have ever read.

This is a nice gesture, but IMO he should apologize publicly. I think he has the personality to do so, and that wouldn't damage him at all.

By chance the first thing i read when logging on this morning was your post Steven. I must say, this has started my day of with enthusiasm and happiness.

For a young fella to have such an attitude, such articulation, such sense and such a strong morally fine attitude on all things has given me inspiration.

If only the majority of the younger generation were of the same make up.

Well done young man, your father must be as proud of you as i am of my son!

Good to hear that you are doing well. It's also good to hear that you are interested in putting (what I would hope) is a "collective" best foot forward. Obviously that would entail quite a bit of change in this industry, but I won't go into that here; I will only post that I truly hope thats where we are headed.

    Best wishes to you!

    Thumbs up

I've heard criticism, over the weekend, that you, your dad and J. Todd were willing to speak with warren and lou, that it was apeasement, etc.

I prefer to call it being polite and in control of your emotions.

I too congratulate you and michael for being so calm and controlled. While i'm always trying to react to negative things in a more positive way, i'm pretty sure that it would have taken me more than a few minutes/hours/days to throttle back my anger and speak to my "rivals".

Thanks to you guys for showing us that not only can people can behave this way, but that it's an important component of being a responsible adult in a fast moving world.

being that this happend in London, i believe the membership are supposed to shout out "Here!, Here!" (or is it Hear!, Hear!) in support of these statements

PS - Congrats to J Todd for his efforts in trying to report just the facts and keepin his emotions (i'll assume you were angry as it was all happening) from fueling the fire.

Can the veterans of the affiliate world imagine how this newcomer is viewing all of this? It certainly makes me wonder what I may have gotten myself into!

I don't want to sound naive...... to say that events in the last months between CAP and GPWA, that led up to the lobby scuffle, don't happen in other businesses because they do. But none the less, I was shocked.

Then I read Steven's post this morning. First of all, I am glad to hear that you are doing fine Steven and, second, I would like to Thank You for redirecting me. I felt relief after reading your post and realized that I have my "business" to focus on and not the squabble between the 2 fourms.

This is why I am a member of this forum!
