    Default Infographics

    Hi -

I have read on here, and elsewhere, about gaining good backlinks from building interesting infographics. Can anyone tell me how this works - is it simply a case of building them as a more sophisticated way of getting someone to publish your content (like a guest blog post) or is there more to it - e.g. are there particular sites where you can publish infographics?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Personally, I think infographics were a fad and they are not so special any more. Too many people have put poor quality infographics on their site in the hope of getting solid backlinks, with zero effect.

I would concentrate on writing the best possible content.

Hey there! Infographic submission is a useful thing as it showcases both information and graphic to create a quality content. It produces some solid back links to improve you rankings.

No, it really doesn't! In the gambling niche especially, nobody is going to publish your graphic. Wolfie's right, it was a fad that has died out. There may still be some mileage in other niches, but in ours you'll waste a lot of time for very little gain, if any.

To this same point, I realize the same thing whenever I read these fad SEO techniques from overrated marketing guys like Brian Dean who everyone seems to listen to: the gambling industry is a completely different beast.

I think we're in probably one of the most cutthroat industries there is for working with competitors on publishing content. Almost no one is going to publish an infographic, guest post, or link to even remote competitors. Things that work for marketers and other industries just don't usually work in our niche, largely because we just don't work together very often.

It can be cynical and depressing, but unless you're throwing massive amounts of money at competitors like the handful of mega-affiliates do, you're unlikely to have your content published on related sites, which, of course is what you're going for if you want the maximum SEO value out of the link.

You can work hard and spend a lot of money to convince non-gaming websites to link to you (and I certainly do), but gambling affiliates are in their own subset of marketing.

Yes there are particular websites where you can submit infographics. You can also submit them to various Web2.0 to build backlinks and generate traffic.
