You can place all the needed links to your bio or make an auto DM sending with links.
Moreover you can find your targeted audience in order to make your job faster.

I have been thinking of getting a instagram account and just post some logos on it and check out how they "like" and "follow". I haven't used it before and I am not super excited about it but I see a lot of companies are using it.

IMO twitter and pintrest traffic converts well for social networking sites.

You need to identify your target, instagram is used by young people and young adults mostly so keeping that in mind you need to "play with the algorithm" by folowing people of your own niche. Look at sucessfull users and follow their users, use the right tags # the most used ones, I mean set the enviroment

After doing this activate paid ads, get really good announces by using the right colors for your activity, stuff that call you target attention, and specially what is the "thing" that your business have that others doesn't

I have some friends trying to do gaming affiliate via Instagram, but they are saying most of traffics are from SEO in the end.

Instagram is to much work for less traffic, even if you are going through mass following and mass like with special softwares and many accounts. Sure SEO traffic is the king but needs also more time and money...
Someone tried FB ads for this case? If yes you know how is going with blocks... So you can only continue to working with multi accounts and anti detector tools + many payment cards and++++ many actions needed but also solve lots of issues
