Hello,

I was reading some research publications about how the internet user generation in North America is changing from 2005.

A survey conducted by Pew Internet and American life project reported the different generations and their online activities.

Generation Y = Born 1977 - 1990, ages 18 to 32 = 30% of internet user
Generation X = Born 1965 - 1976, ages 33 to 44 = 23% of internet user
Younger Boomers = Born 1955 - 1964, ages 45 to 54 = 22% of internet user
Older Boomers = Born 1946 - 1954, ages 55 to 63 = 13% of internet user
Silent Generation = Born 1937 - 1945, ages 64 to 72 = 7% of internet user
G.I Generation = Born -1963, ages 73+ = 4% of internet user

They reported:

- Generation Y grew up with information age and are more savvier with gadgets and technology. Most likely spend more tim online with social networking, text messaging, downloading music, playing games online, creating blogs...

- Generation X buy products online, do online banking, research online before making a purchase.

- Younger and Older boomers uses more the internet to do their banking, read the news, check their emails.

- Silent Generation is enjoying to send and receive emails and playing some games.
This generation has increased by 45% compared to 2005.

We should probably consider some of the above information for people who are aging
and most likely having more time available to be a frequent online user.

Cheers,
