    Default Jamie Foxx Netflix Special

My wife and I watched "Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was..." on Netflix the other night and it was incredible and powerful. Filled with equal parts laughter and tears and performed in a way that can't really be replicated unless you've gone through what he's gone through. Highly recommended! If you've seen it or decide to watch it, but sure to reply to let everyone know what you thought of it.

Jamie Foxx, its a porn star right? Sounds like a lot of unwanted "a***" shootings?!

I had to bail after the first 30 mins. It was totally not my thing. I didn't find it entertaining or enlightning, just someone trying to make sense of his situation with his religious beliefs. May be inteesting for others, but not one i'll be recommending.

I have absolutely zero idea what you're saying!

If you're not into it after 10-15 minutes, definitely shut it off because it's not for you. I was hooked after 5-10 minutes and by the end I was in tears (with many laughs along the way). I suppose it helps to be familiar with his body of work as well as the health scare he went through that brought about this particular Netflix special.

I'm not a religious person by any means, but the special didn't come across to me as having any religious beliefs forced upon me. Rather, it came across as a sincere firsthand account of what he went through and to be honest, I may have some stronger religious beliefs myself if I had gone through a similar situation.

Perhaps even more than the content of the story, I was really impressed with the actual structure/components of the special itself (comedy, music, video, etc). I've seen a lot of stand-up comedy and other related "specials" before, but I can't recall anything that was put together the way this one was. When looking at it in its entirety, it had the same impact on me as a perfectly written musical composition would in terms of being able to evoke certain emotions.

I started watching it and found it interesting, but it didn’t really hook me and it’s definitely not my style. I think if it were in another format, I would have connected with it more.

He's not my sort comedian .. we see life very differently.

And his thoughts on a "God" who he thinks sickens and immobilises people he loves are just outright madness.
This sort of religious thinking - well OK - alright ALL religious thinking that think humans can reason with "God" - is an madness.

    This is just sad.
