Karaoke Anyone?

I recently started visiting a local pub that features karaoke on Sunday afternoons. The place gets packed and is actually a lot of fun. Some good singer and some not so good. If I had the nerve to get up and sing I will be in the latter group, LOL

Anyone ever go to a karaoke bar? Do you sing? What is your favourite song to sing. Sweet Caroline?

Love karaoke, and once the liquid courage is flowing, it's an absolute blast to get up there and sing.

Used to sing Hang on Sloopy by The McCoys quite a bit with a group of friends and Bon Jovi's Bed of Roses along with Always are a couple of my go-to jams.

My brother was notorious back in the day for walking up to bad singers mid-song and paying them to stop singing. A total jerk move for sure, but most of the time it was well received and ended up with a good laugh.

Also, I am a TERRIBLE singer, but that's what makes karaoke so fun. Otherwise, it'd be a concert right?

I tend to need some alcoholic lubrication before daring to get up and sing, however after sufficient ales it's usually a Spandau Ballet classic such as True or Gold that has the rest of the bar sticking their fingers in their ears.

Oh no, only once in my life have I sung Karaoke and, if I remember correctly, it was really good, however, I think it was thanks to too many drinks lol

I used to go to one that was close to where I was staying on one of my trips. I loved it!

Regarding the question about singing, it depends on your definition of singing XD

My favorite songs are Queen songs, I think there is no way to sing them in a karaoke and not have a good time.

It has been fun reading the comments in this post. One common thread seems to always involve liquor of some kind to build up the courage. LOL

You're missing all the fun! People who can sing have their place in singing competitions, those who can't in karaokes.

I don't know if there are places where you are expected to do a "proper" presentation, but the whole point of the ones I've been to is to allow yourself to do different things and be silly for a while...bonus points if you dance!
