Yes I would like to see that statement clarified.

Now in terms of anchor text on links, I try and use different anchors for inbound links from other sites.

I do this to match the theme of the page or article the link is on as well as make sure it matches the kind of content on the page the link is pointing at as well.

Hi jijaybajay,I mean that you should change keyword regarding to your keyword.I mean keyword 'Using variants of your main keywords or you can say product.'
For example:If your Product is 'Sound Card',then you may select keywords like
    computer sound card
    buy sound card
    professional sound card
    digital sound card etc..
All those name must be relevant to your product..

I am not agree with "Choose Specific but Not Popular Keywords". Popular keywords are those keywords which is searched mostly, if you will avoid these keywords due to more competition then you can't get sufficient visitors.

I would say choose specific keywords but non popular key word phrases. I think you should use popular keywords as obviously they are searched the most but use strings of popular keywords to create keyword phrases.

In Gary Beal's 12 SEO tips, he states that 25% of all Google searches have never been searched before. Imagine the possiblilities! When I'm putting together a Keyword phrase I try to think to myself what would I put in the box to search?

Sure its easy to say "poker reviews" but good luck getting in the top results of that page. Instead try to come up with a 4 or 5 keyword phrase using "poker" and "reviews".

Problem with that regards optimisation is that the whole reason they have never been searched before is that they are so obscure only one person has ever searched for the term

So what it really means is that only 75% of searches are of any interest to us
