Launched mid-April, please review

Hello,

We launched a new betting affiliate portal in mid-April - pariez-online.ro in Romanian (for Romania). It's a WordPress with Mercury theme.
Since then, we posted daily association football and tennis tips, betting slips, and sports-related articles. Also, we added materials about betting, and sportsbook reviews. This part is still in the works (more reviews and materials will be added in time).

It looks pretty standard in general. Maybe that will be enough against Romanian competition but there is a risk it could just fall into the bracket of ' another gambling site like all the others'. If your content is strong, that may be sufficient to elevate the site over any competition that takes a similar approach.

I didn't get an option for English translation, but the review I looked at seemed to be suitably deep and well formed.

It would probably do you no harm to have an 'about us' page.

The black text on green background menu is hard to read. There's a fair chance that a search engine either could already or will in future be able to tell from crawling the code that this sort of usability issue might be encountered by visitors.

I echo chaumi's thoughts that this is fine but doesn't stand out yet. Good amount of text on the home page. The reviews are nice and deep. Given you only just launched not a bad start but needs to get strong unique content on there for decent future rankings.

The site header doesn't look great to me. The logo seems small and blurred and could do with a revamp.

The type font does not suit the site's content. And, as Matt added, the logo is small and blurred. Personally, and because your logo is only the site's name, I'd be more inclined to flick the image logo and use text instead (BUT don't include the hyphen, use two separate words).

You could also take advantage of the default WordPress description, which, with some CSS tweaking, you could a fix these words a few pixels, directly under your H1 site name. From memory WP defaults to H3 for the site's title description. Hence, pick you description well, it will help your SEO.

Plenty of decent Google fonts available, which would serve you far better than this sad looking, amateurish logo, your using now. The text would be default to you H1 tag, which, is going to be far better than this logo.

OK so on second look, I now got the translation to English option. Of course, it's a machine translation, but from the look of it you seem to have covered the subjects sensibly and intelligently (ie as a gambling writer that is writing about sports betting should be able to write). So, good work by the look of it on that - now you need to do a lot more of it + the other tidying up mentioned in previous posts.

The menu looks better. I still wouldn't think it's ideal, but maybe that's just me. There are tools that will give you contrast/readability figures. I will try to dig one out.
