    Default Leo Vegas Player Verification

So been a player at Leo for a few years and been fully verified since 2017. At the weekend got an email asking for these details to be provided for a card that was on my account. Now this is the only card that has ever been on there and has had both deposits and withdrawals to it.

This is what they were after

We must be able to clearly identify the following on the front of your card*:

All four corners of your card
The first six and last four digits of the card number
    Your full name
    The expiration date

    * In the interests of your own security, we recommend that you conceal the information we do not need.

Now I do not have an issue with supplying an image of the card, but as my account details only show the last 4 digits on the Leo account, why are they asking for the first 6 numbers too. For me this is way to many and only leaves 6 numbers not showing. I was partcularly taken by the last sentance about security.

Is this not open to fraud or am I being paranoid?

I was allowed to deposit since this email and guess what the withdrawal I made is pending and won't be released until it is uploaded.

Do you not think it should work both ways, that I should not of been allowed to deposit till the relevant image was uploaded. Why is it only when a withdrawal is made it becomes a huge issue.

If I closed the account will I have to still supply said image?

Do you think it is worth chasing up with the UKGC or other relevant groups?

Wow, so quick update instead of sending me a personalised email with why it was not good enough they have just sent out the same generic email as before. Useless!!!

No, you are not paranoid. The ordinary player does not know, that the same people, who were behind bars in the past (e.g. Playtech) or are behind bars right now (e.g. AffActive), acted or acting not only as representatives or on higher levels at the affiliate program but also as Casino Manager, and I know for a fact, that they have access to a lot of data they shouldn't.

Many - especially new - players believe, Casino is Casino, and an affiliate program is outside that place.

The fact, that also your privacy data will be shared and sold all over this industry, is also not a sign of trust.

I have never used a Credit Card while playing in an online Casinos, because I know, how many frauds and criminals are working there and have perhaps access to data.

But this Credit Card problem will rise, because after the takeover of Neteller and Skrill by the Income Access Paysafegroup, it's a total disaster with that wallets. The independent Trustpilot ratings are so bad, that no player will sign-up anymore so quick. In their current terms Neteller declares, that they can close any account at any time for any "illegal" reasons, which means, that you as a Neteller customer must first check the legal situation with respect to your homeland and the online casino in question.

To ask for 4 numbers, this really enough. The odds are 1:10,000 that anyone can guess that number. Even my local bank here in Germany, and we have very strict rules, even that bank is only asking for the last 4 numbers to verify me at the phone.

Leo Vegas has also a bad 1 Star rating at Trustpilot. Keep in mind, when a casino representative or a program representative is not undersigning his public messages with a real name but only talking as an anonymous ghost for the whole program or casino, then the trust level is not very high.

I know, many programs like Club Gold or 888 are also using fake names to provide some individuality in the messages, because they know the importance, but you can take this no real name = no trust rule in general without making something wrong, when you are in a public or private communication with a casino.

4 numbers are enough. They should you provide a reason, why a 1:10,000 chance is not enough.
Enforcing a 1:10,000,000,000 chance is really silly and cannot be explained with an serious argument.

Yeah, I have been in touch with their live chat so I know it was legit. I would never click a link from an email only always go to the source.

You can do, but I don't think that will change anything.

If Leo Vegas's internal procedures require that info then you're going to have to supply it, or get into a long protracted argument that will result in you still having to supply the info.

Other Casinos ask for the same, Leo Vegas isn't unique.

If you don't want to supply the info then vote with your feet, close your account and play somewhere else that doesn't ask for that info.

To avoid providing Card info in the future use a Web Wallet, or Direct Bank Transfer. You will of course have to verify all those at some stage. God knows what they'll ask for

If you think your privacy is being invaded now, just wait until you're asked for your Source Of Wealth. That's a whole different ball game!

Fair enough, I will be closing the account. But if I do that will I stiil be required to send the card image to get my withdrawal?

"will I stiil be required to send the card image to get my withdrawal"

    Most likely unfortunately.

Leo Vegas has really mutated into a lousy ghost train. Take some minutes for a couple of real reviews in English, not that biased stuff from affiliates:

    https://www.trustpilot.com/review/leovegas.com

Read them. You will see so many strange verification issues!

I have seen also dozens of German reviews on Trustpilot, where people over weeks could not pass the strange verification system. Everything happens obviously with intent, and at the end, when the casino will implode, credit card data will be sold in the Dark Net if some by accident are sending a picture of the whole card.

I am always nervous and hesitant in providing confidential information to any program. We always have to put our trust in them and hope that the information truly is secured ..... these days a very difficult task for anyone, organization or government.

Actually, if anyone hacked your email, or other accounts, since many places show the last 4 numbers of the card, I can sorta see why they might ask for the beginning also, and they clearly suggest hiding portions.

I relented and provided the info as I had a decent cashout pending. But the account will be closed once it hits the bank.
Thanks guys I just thought it was overkill with the amount of numbers required.
