You should come and live where I am. The water at night, in the wee hours of the AM, sometimes smells like pool water. Have no idea what they're dumping into the water to make is smell like clorine, but believe me, I don't drink the tap water here.

I only put my hands into fire, that you have clean water, if the water tanks will be filled into a German airline on German soil. We have here for everything, even for rolls an own hygiene control agency. If this is not the case, you have no German plane on German soil, then you should follow Shay's airplane survival strategy.

This urge for safety and hygiene is good and bad at the same time. From one point it is reasonable to be afraid of germs, but if the threat is constantly avoided, then immune system relaxes and becomes vulnerable. Some time ago I watched a documentary called "Babies" by Thomas Balmès. It tells a story of 4 babies that were born in Japan, Mongolia, US, and Namibia. The contrast was shocking. While Japanese kid was surrounded by high tech safe environment a Mongolian kid had a goat drinking from his improvised bath tub. How do you think, who will be more germ resistant in the adulthood?

What is better, to have less germs around or be too tough for germs to take you down?

In everyday life, you do not have to put yourself in 100% sanitary, you know very well, that it is not good.
After you take the slightest germ that comes.
Now in airplanes, if you let the water rot, it's poisoning, it's not the same

Well said ! our babies are around our 2 cats all day and on top of what you've mentioned they also very happy when they see them each time and specially when the cats are coming closer for some treatment, they are so happy with a big smile.., it worth it also because of this

It is very true. For example, when I was expecting my children, I had cats. I never had toxoplasmosis.
While friends who had no cats had it. And the rest is the same.
You need good hygiene, that's for sure.

Yes. I read one book. The memour of one millitary officer about war in Afganistan 1979-1989. Army builded hospitals for local peoples. And ~ 100% all medical drugs showed very good results when local people taked it.

The secret is, that local people during many generations don't taked any tablets or other forms of medicine drugs. And they have very strong immune system.
