... to deposit ratio? What is normal, what is good, what is bad? I don't have any clue but always wonder why 400 people click on a banner, 6 of them sign up and only 3 deposit?!

    How are the normal ratios?

In my experience this number really varies across sites. I use to wonder this myself and just asked the affiliate manager of the particular site. In asking them they all really seem to have different benchmarks.

Another plus for asking the AM is that if your sign up ratio is low, they are usually more than willing to look at your site and give suggestions. And all suggestions won't be to move thier banners to more prominent posistions either.

I think your sign up to deposit ratio is really high, a 50% conversion rate is wonderful. The part that concerns me would be the click to sign up ratio. There are many reasons why that number could be so low.

The player is not enticed to sign up due to a poorly converting brand, poor website, weak calls to action, confusing terms.

The information you are giving is not validated once they reach the poker site, (bonus, promos, etc.).

Your visitors are not able to sign up due to country restrictions, (A US player arrives at a non US brand).

The registration process is cumbersome or confusing.

As Travis said, get in touch with your affiliate manager and see what he/she sees.

    Default Demographics

The reason we, as purveyors of portal poop, can't get any good demographics is because our customer based is the most tight lipped group of consumers on the planet. (besides drug dealers)

They won't even register at a site before they cruise the pages. They hate giving out information about themselves or their habits because of the "Big Brother" syndrome.

I've been trying to get accurate information on gamblers and their habits for six months. No luck.

That deposit ratio is so high because I'm specialized in creating niche-sites with extreme long-tail keywords such as "Microgaming free spins after first deposit" so that it's pretty easy for me to deliver visitors exactly what they're looking for. Sometimes it really treads on my nerves that I send highly targeted traffic to operators that have brutal crappy landingpages... but hey, can't send that traffic to playtech casino unfortunately
