Default link checker tool suggestions please

hi, i would like to know what link checker tool you guys/girls use to check for broken links/incoming/outgoing links in one tool, and is there a way of checking if a link exchange partner has kept your link up without actually visiting the site and checking
    thanks

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend one tool for all of them tasks. Breaking your needs down I would recommend the following:

Broken links - If you are referring to internal broken links then I would go with Xenu any day. This will find any 404 error and also (after a right click) tell you exactly where it is linked from. This can be downloaded here http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html.

Why do I recommend this over other tools which can do the same task below? Simply because it it is such a great tool with loads of uses and I would recommend everyone download it instantly

Incoming Links - I wouldn't go with one tool for this, it would be a combination of Google Webmaster Tools, Open Site Explorer, Majestic SEO and depending on the effort I want to put in maybe a bit of Yahoo Site Explorer.

Outgoing Links - Advanced link manager, which I have wrote about in the next point and Xenu can both draw up a list of outgoing links in seconds.

    Reciprocal Link Checker
    - Advanced link manager does this brilliantly - you can do anything you want from schedule reports/schedule email updates/schedule updates for particular links - a bit ot much for one site but if you are running multiple sites with different link partners it is useful.

    Cheers,
    Dave

Seriously Xenu kicks ass for finding broken links, images and for tracking affiliate links on your own or someone else's site

A very slick program and its free so what's not to like,

Nothing beats it - wrote a post before Christmas on it here http://www.davidmerry.co.uk/tools-yo...-without/xenu/ if anyone is considering downloading it!

I know SEOMoz and HubSpot has some great free and paid tools as well for checking a lot of this kind of stuff.
