Default Expert says online gambling a bad bet

The Buzz is all about equal opportunity here, so we're posting this article about gambling "expert's" John W. Kindt opinions on the UIGEA being overturned.

Kindt said that the revenue that would be brought in from gambling "is miniscule compared to the devastation it would bring to financial systems, stock markets, national security and people’s lives."

“All Congressman Frank wants is some new tax revenues, and he’s throwing the country under the bus to get them,” Kindt said."

This guy has got to get a life.
I haven't seen the UK under a bus for online gambling.

That Kindt guy looks like a weasel .....but not to be nasty now, because I am obviously biased considering my livelihood and the livelihood of all my employees and their families comes from online gambling ......
I sometimes wonder if anyone has done the math on who would be the biggest losers / winners if all online gambling was shut down.
In other words - If we took the number of online gambling addicts who would be "saved' versus the number of online gambling employees who would all lose their jobs - meaning affiliates, affiliate managers, support staff, design staff, accounting staff , software developers etc .
I would bet anybody that the employees have a lot more to lose than the few gambling addicts of which I believe are roughly 5%
However, Lets not forget that most gamblers will do whatever they can to gamble - so they will simply trot off to the likes of Las Vegas and the other land based casinos who of course would never be shut down as they pump too much money into various campaigns for certain Senators.
If these guys were also lobbying for the land casinos to close down - then its another story - but whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Hypocrites is the word that comes to mind......
