Default LiteSpeed Cache or WP Rocket

Hi everyone, I have a question about WordPress performance.
What do you recommend for speed: LiteSpeed Cache or WP Rocket?
I build SEO websites and page speed is important for rankings.
Also, do you prefer Astra/GeneratePress or custom themes?
    Thanks for any suggestions!

If your site is on a LiteSpeed server, I highly recommend the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. Plus, it's free.

Good point, I was gonna mention that previously too. Many report almost no change in speed or even a slight slow down of the site trying to use litespeed plugin if not on a litespeed server.

Overall I think best speed improvements a site can have are (besides a decent server to start with) are cleaner code in a theme, lighter images, and overall fewer plugins generally (or at least dropping plugins with overlapping functions)

I have used both, in the end I stuck with litespeed + ls cache + cloudflare. my experience with litespeed slow down was when i was Geotargeting pages. Now I don't so it's lightening quick.

I can second the "litespeed + ls cache + cloudflare" reply above, but again, only if you are on a LiteSpeed server.

I use LiteSpeed Cache, my website has great metrics and has been working perfectly since then.

I will also say litespeed server without any cache also works pretty quick too as long as you have a decent build.

With WP Rocket I have been better improvements, in terms of speed, compared to using Litespeed Cache.

It comes down to the theme and server you're on. WP Rocket caused me a ton of issues so I ended up removing it.

My site is on a Litespeed server and I use the Litespeed cache plugin for cache and image optimisation purposes only (page cache, mobile cache, object cache, browser cache). I then use Perfmatters for everything else.

My Google PageSpeed score on mobile:
    1. Performance 99
    2. Accessibilty 100
    3. Best Practices 100
    4. SEO 100

Is that real speed on search console core web vitals? or is it the synthetic page speed score through tricks like holding back loading certain important aspects of the site which will also affect the sites user exeprience score. Iv'e used both but raw gettign full working code to reader for me is litespeed.

Both are good, but they are just band-aids if the core architecture is heavy. Page speed is the ultimate conversion killer. If your landing page doesn't load instantly on a standard mobile connection natively, you are literally bleeding CPA conversions. Clean HTML/CSS code always equals higher ROI, regardless of the caching plugin you use.
