    Default Lost All my Links?

So I was checking Webnaster Tools and noticed on some of my sites all of the sudden the number of links they are showing has been reduced dramastically. Has anyone else experinced this? I know Google just ipdated PR. Hope they come back!!

I see that google itself is doing fine for "android slots" - It's Android app store has 7 out of 10 on the first page

Once the googlies figured out that if you put "app" behind ANY keyword it will make money... google's own sites jumped to the top of the page one of the SERP for any keyword set that contained "APP".

And google gets away with it... because they bought the FTC this last election.

I figure that google will keep a very few non-google sites in those SERP(note the itunes sites), just so they can show the government regulators that they are not 'illegally' monopolizing the SERP.

google are a bunch of fuckheads.

FYI I used to rank #1 for [blackjack app], that keyword set was worth 100k a year. Till google figured it out and pushed me clear out of the SERP for that keyword set.
    So I know your pain.

Thanks for the update. I've noticed the fall as well but apparently is nothing to worry about.

Its weird. Links gone and internal homepage links gone as well? Good news is search has not declined, continues to increase if anything. Hope they do get it fixed though shortly. I like to peek at what they have listed.

From what I know Google Webmasters will not report ALL links. In the run of 3 years and a half I have seen this at least 6 times. Each time Google has been either implementing new features, or has been updating the link portfolio.

Anyways it's nothing to worry about, unless your ranks have went downhill as well.

The good news is that Google has reported this bug (seroundtable.com/google-webmaster-tools-links-back-16349.html).

The bad news is that GWT does NOT show all links. Its just their policy. The closest you can get to a full picture would be combining a few sources. I recommend a combo of Open Site Explorer, Majestic and aHREFs.

    Cheers

Does anyone use market samuri? Their platform uses majestic seo i think. My website took a big hit, and i thought it had to do with the panda and penguin updates. However after reading google webmaster tools blog I saw that my site can be hurt if I install a plugin which i did. Right now I am trying to see which links are bad for my site, does anyone know a tool that can analyse the backlinks to see if they are helpful or hurtful?

How exactly is it gonna analyze if they help you or not? It all comes down to niche and relativity. A PR5 dofollow link from a flower site, might be great for someone with a gardening site, but not at all for gambling.

I personally download the webmaster data, give a quick look on the domains. Scrapers, weird looking urls (gherw.it or something similar) and basically anything that doesn't belong there I just disavow with domain:example.com. Then I submit it and let Google do the rest.

Even if there's a software I doubt it will be able to surpass you in personally taking the time to check each link or at least most of the top domains. To be honest I'd be worried more about what I am linking to. I used seo frog I think to check out where I link and from which page. Turned out some of the sites I was linking to don't even exist anymore and some looked slapped.

Took care of those as well.

I did an analysis on this site, sportsbettingsites_org which isnt even a year old and is ranking on the first page of google. There are only 10 pages indexed, and the backllinks are to sites outsite of the niche. It looks like they are high PR banner farms. It is very strange and has a very weird pattern that defies panda/pengiun somehow. The sources that I get my information are seroundtable_com, webmaster world forum, google webmaster blog & matt cutts video tuturials.

Google's Algo's are in no way perfect, but eventually it catches up to speed with everyone and everything. Whether it's today, or in 3-4 months trying to trick Google always gets you running like a mouse from a cat. One day, you just can't recover anymore, especially when they throw you a manual penalty. Then you have to look back and undo everything that you have done and submit reconsideration form.
