Default Loto Quebec to launch online gambling site

Loto-Québec, the government agency that operates lotteries in the Canadian province of Quebec, has announced it will launch an online gambling Web site on Dec. 1.

Players must be over the age of 18 and can't gamble more than $10,000 per week. The site will offer eight poker games, blackjack and roulette.

    From CTV.com:

The goal, said Loto Quebec CEO Alain Cousineau, is to raise more than $50 million per year.

"We have a responsibility to do this and, by the way, if that makes it so the state will recoup some of the money that is available out there, the more the merrier," he said.

Well, I can say that said launching of online gambling site which majorly offers lottery is a very good idea. In fact, legalized or not, still a lot of Canadian will go on with their of gambling specially the Quebecers who love to gamble. And right, it would be good for their recessing economy too.

If it's anything like their offline gambling offers, it won't make a big difference.

I calculated that their sports betting odds were about 50% worse (cumulated, when you had to pick 3 teams) than online!

I made a whole lot of money comparing their offer with online options.
