Managing subdomains sitemap's

Hey guys,

We've recently moved our covered leagues to subdomains and was wondering if it's OK if we've submitted the sitemap's of the subdomains to the GWT as new websites and added them to the main domain aswell.

Google has already indexed the pages so it seems like it's working but, in a long term is it OK to have the sitemap's present on both.

I'd have a separate sitemap / entry in GWT for every subdomain if I were to go the subdomain route for a site. Though, I'm not sure that I would go this route for different covered leagues unless the country I am targeting for visitors is also different from one another (ie - targeting a UK audience for the Premier League, a German audience for the Bundesliga, etc.). If you're targeting one specific audience / country for all your content, then the subdomains make little sense IMO.
