    Hi Rick,

We use contact forms for approaching affiliates, and only e-mail addresses available on their sites. Sometimes it happens that an affiliate has more sites than we know, therefore we make this mistake with writing to all of them without realizing that we write to the same owner.

Look, I'm really sorry for the bother and we try to change the way we make contact, because it is demoralizing for us as well to know that we are doing our job in a wrong way. There is a lot of improvement to make and it's in progress...

I hope that being here, on GPWA forum, I will get the help from you guys, in order to become better.

    Best regard,
    Catherine Watts

    Hi MMM,

Can you please send me the full list of your sites (via private message)? I will inform all of my colleagues to not approach you anymore. We don't try to annoy you, we just really hope that we can make long term partnerships with some of you guys, without any bad intentions.

I am sure that our approach will change over time as we have no interest in pissing you off.

    Best regards,
    Catherine Watts

99.9% of igaming affiliates use a proxy domain reg (that's been the norm for literally years). Hence, their email addy(s) are hidden.

So how you managed to acquire personal email addresses is a complete mystery. Unless you factor in the high-possibility, your aff program/casino is purchasing stolen database records. Given your a pack of "spammers"...

I'm going for the stolen database theory, instead of your BS compiled story!

If your receiving this harassing trash, I'd be using email filtering, and deleting this cr#p before it even hits your inbox.

I'd also be taking a look at the raw email headers, and reporting any IP's and or domains in that coding, to Spammer Blacklists.

    Hi AussieDave,

All I can say is that we gathered our contacts from public places, compiled a list and approached + mostly used contact forms available on affiliate sites. Nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunate is that I can't find a way to prove it to you...therefore I apologize again for the inconveniences we created.

We will change the way we do approaches and, in time, actions will speak for themselves.

    Best,
    Catherine Watts

Approaching people using a compiled list (such as whois info or any other method where the recipient does NOT contact you requesting more information) should still NEVER be more than a one-off.

Adding a compiled list of email addresses to ANY kind of recurring mailings where the recipient must unsubscribe to stop the emails is a method of spam.

Not to mention, why should anyone be required to unsubscribe from a mailing list, they never subscribed to in the 1'st place. This trick is yet another "spammer scam", and all it does is verify the email addy in question, is accessed by, the holder of said email addy.

Furthermore, lets not forget the EU GDPR Laws. Curacao is Governed by the Netherlands, which, last time I checked, is still in the EU. Aside from that law which btw your currently in breach of. There's also the USA Can-Spam Laws, and other countries with similar "spam" laws too.

I'll finalise all that with this profound pearler:

    Question

    Hi everyone!

In the past few weeks we updated our practices of communication, therefore, please let me know if anybody in the forum has received from us (Mate Affiliates Team) an e-mail and when/ if asking for it to be removed we have failed to do so.
We just want to make sure that our new practices are working well.

Your feedback would be much appreciated!
    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Catherine Watts

Following up on this thread to see is any affiliates are still having email issues with Mate Affiliates. I understand affiliate programs solicit affiliates (that is their job), my inbox is filled with programs reaching out. An email or two from a program is one thing, but being constantly bombarded with unsolicited emails is something else.

Mate has been communicating with us in regards to their email practices and has made commitments to improve. I would like confirmation that affiliates are seeing those changes occurring.
I am here to help if you have any issues with an affiliate program.

Not had anything either for a few weeks, the annoying thing was, I already have Zet Casino listed, but still kept getting the soliciting emails. Same with other programs too, you would think they would check the database against the registered users first.

Mate Affiliates would like to be a sponsor at GPWA. They have agreed to our Code of Conduct, have made changes to their email practices and have been communicating with us on a regular basis. I am hopeful they have learned from this incident and continue to be open to community feedback. We did delay any decision on sponsorship for a few months to make sure there were no additional issues with them.

However, I want to reach out once more to see if anyone is having any issues with Mate Affiliates.

Once they sent us the first email a couple months ago, we haven't received anymore. So everything should be in order.

Thank you for the feedback, I am marking the thread resolved. I tend to be overly cynical when a program says it is changing, I am glad to see Mate Affiliates has kept their word and I look forward to continuing working with them on GPWA.
