Default EA Sports Simulation: Spain to win 2010 World Cup

According to most experts, the result this year's FIFA World Cup will likely come down to a toss-up between closely matched favorites Spain and Brazil.

But ask EA's best-selling 2010 FIFA World Cup, and you'll get a more precise answer: the rivals will meet in a nailbiting final game that sees Brazil take a 30th minute 1-0 lead -- only to be beaten by their European adversaries 3-1.

Just as we see that most season, the two best teams do not meet in the Superbowl, or the Stanely Cup or the MLB World Series ... so it is in football.

"EA Sports" fails to simulate the bad pitches, the coaching mistakes, the unlucky injuries ... and the poor officiating calls ...

The World Cup invovles THREE sudden-death knockout games before the final, with the lottery of penalty kicks being used if scores are still level after 120 minutes. That's plenty of scope for eliminations.

Brazil and Spain are the top two ranked sides ...

But I'll comfortably predict that WE will not see Brazil v Spain in the final ...
We may not see EITHER team get there.

I agree with the gooner to an extent. EA Sports FIFA WC 2010 is an awesome game and fairly realistic however chances of Spain v Brazil is slim and if it was to be then there is no way that Spain would win 3 - 1

The World Cup is not about predictions.
Winning the cup is about mental strength, guts, balls, and a little help from friends (FIFA). Any of the teams with some history (not only in the cup) may be the champion.

The first time i watched the cup was in 1982 and i've done my best over the years to be unemployed, self employed or on leave so i could watch as many games as possible. Spain is the perennial favorite that never fails to disappoint. Brazil is the all time greatest power and is always a good bet to make it to the final.

I'd love to think the US would have a chance, which 12 years ago i thought might be possible by now, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. Today i'm hoping for a draw against England and making it out of the first round. though it will be a tough road.

Whoever wins (as long as it's not italy!) i look forward to the next month of action.
