This is supposed to be the trimming of sites focusing only on long tail keywords. Has this had en effect on many gambling affiliates?

This went into effect June 2/3. I did see a drop in some rankings for "niche" areas but nothing on my key sites.

Anyone else?

Google seems to be VERY slow at updating sites for me... Yahoo very quick.. google, its been a while..

basically MayDay impacted a lot of eCommerce type websites

from what I understood, it negatively impacts sites with low content, targeted only at long tail keywords, and low user activity

a rep from Google has hinted at a major search engine conference that it is now (re:MayDay) making more use of user behavior data

i noticed a quite substantial shake around for one of my lesser but very competative keywords. The site that had held number 2 spot suddenly dropped to about number 7 which will result in a major loss of traffic. It just goes to show not to put all your eggs in 1 basic as google can take everything away very quickly if you aren't on the ball

I have had a few clients in other industries recently comment that they had lost ranking in Google to some of their comeptitors, and in a few cases they had lost rank to unrelated businesses....

In one case (a restaurant) he has lost ranking even when city and geographic keywords are added to the query....

In most cases they have noticed the largest over the last 2 to 4 weeks.

These clients are not necessarily SEO clients so I am not sure what exactly has caused these changes but it does seem to be tied in to changes we all have seen as well.
