Default Michael Phelps - 21 Olympic gold medals

21 Olympic gold medals, most successful Olympian of all time, and faster than the teenagers at age 31. Just brilliant. And I'm not even American

He is good to watch wherever you're from. The days of Thorpe V Phelps were the glory days for swimming.

I still think Phelps will be outshone at this Olympics by Simone Biles (another American, shock, horror ). She's set to win 5 Golds in one Olympics, which has never been done in Gymnastics.

He's won a total of 64 gold, 13 silver, and 3 bronze throughout his career at the Olympics, the FINA World Aquatics Championships and the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. Amazing !!

Love Phelps. He is pretty easy on the eye too so I really don't mind watching him

There is a guy from Oz who does these reviews and he is hilarious. He did one on the Philippine divers that both scored a 0.

    I'll just leave this here:

I always love watching the gymnastics. The stuff those girls do is phenomenal. Makes me wish I stuck to gymnastics when I was a kid.

I was reading somewhere that he has lungs twice the size of the average man. He's a freak of nature!

Double the lung capacity is oneof theses crazy myths until I see evidence of it. I'm sure he has a capacity much higher than most humans but double is pushing it for me.

He has the perfect gene pool for swimming: Tall, long arms and torso, short legs, massive wingspan etc. but Id say most of his competitors have the same traits. That's where skill, technique and the mentality of the athlete come in and that's where I think Phelps gets his extra couple tenths/hundredths from.

He punches bongs too. With his lung capacity imagine the size of the cone he could punch hahaha.

Yeah maybe 2 times as big is a bit much, would be more useful to see how his lung capacity...etc stacks up with other top swimmers

That cupping thing he was doing for recovery was just a diversion. What really happened was he was that stoned, he exhaled instead of inhaled, and blew the cone piece out of the pipe and burned himself :P
