Poll: How long did it take you to make $1000+ in profits

This might be an interesting poll for a newcomer in the gambling affiliate marketing niche. With my first casino site it took me four months back in 2012 to reach €1000 in profits. However to be very honest this revenue only came from two players. So if I might not have been that lucky it might have taken me much longer.

It took me about 6 months in 2008. I was promoting only poker so it took some time.

My first 2 sites were total failures, I then gave up for 3 years, yes 3 years. I then came back to it and my next site I did was profitable within a couple of months of launch after I read a load about affiliate marketing and realised where I was going wrong. Motto is, never give up

It took me very long to make any profit. It was a learning process of more than one year until we knew how to work in this business.

Maybe 4 -5 months? It was so long ago I don't remember exactly, I remember the feeling though!

I say about 7 to 9 months.. Basically I started with my first site when I was out of work, put a LOT of work into it nearly every day for about 4 months.. Gave up and forgot about it when I got a job offer. A good 3 months later (or so) I went back to check some affiliate accounts and to my surprise I had 3k in earnings just waiting to be cashed out. From that point forward (2009) I've had earnings just about every month since.

Longer than 12 months, I did this part time before I quit my previous job.

Just over 12 months, was running the site while doing my old job full time to begin with. A massive 34 FTDs in that first year

I must be the record here as it took me 3 years! But this was due to many factors. I knew nothing about the internet so made many mistakes in the early days ( 1999 ) also had a full time job, so the casinos were initially just a hobby. Had no clue how to SEO or design a website and learnt from scratch. It has been quite a journey. My first cheque was for $8.00...and that was all the motivation I needed to realize that if I could make $8.00 then why can't I make $80 000.00...and I did about 6 years later....!

What a great story, Topboss. I hope that I can say the same 6 years from now (hopefully a little earlier). One of the proudest moments I had was when I was getting a lot of traffic on one page but zero depositors (not one in three months time). I changed things around, shortened the text, put different banners in and made it more call to action. Within two days that same page had given me two depositing customers. Even though they were only small customers, that's was the moment when I knew you can do anything if you are willing to try, invest and not give up.

After 4 months I was lucky and a player deposited £1500 and another £1500 the month after. (then he stopped playing) As I had 66% revshare for the first 6 months, I can say I was very pleased

It depends very much on the definition of profit and if you mean a total profit of $ 1.000 or $ 1.000 per month (I guess the last option). Depending on what sort of company, you'd also need to calculate your own salary and the costs you're making (I bought a new laptop for example, a new desk, new chair, i've set up the company with bank accounts, etc).

So, I answered no: still no profit for the company

If you have the "right" player, -only one- then in less than 10 minutes if she/he is well-off and playing Martingale or Labouchere progression. Most do it at the beginning of their "career".

So from a mathematical point of view it is possible that you make $1000+ in profit in the next minutes now, and you need only one player for this. Even if the odds are 1024:1 or 2048:1, it can happen at the very first spins after she/he made the first deposit or after a 3-month break, regardless of Zero.

Patience is the key.
For both parties, the webmaster but also the programs.

Smart players are the minority.

I was just under 12 months. To be honest I hadn't a clue what I was doing and until I joined the GPWA, I didn't realise that there was more than one affiliate program. I was Referback 100% early on.

I put 3 to 6 months but I am not 100% sure. I remember it being relatively quick, but that was because I used Google Adwords for a few days before they booted me!
