    Default Mobile rankings

    Hi -

Currently on some keywords one of our sites ranks slightly worse than on desktop, and holds snippets on desktop that it doesn't on mobile. Is this common? Or a sign that something is wrong.

I noticed we have an error in search console saying - 'Content Wider Than Screen' for mobile. Unhelpfully under examples it says, 'No examples found'. So I don't know how seriously to take this.

Site speed on mobile is ok so I don't see that as the issue.

    Thanks for any advice,
    Mark

Have you checked the page load speed? https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ as Google use that as a ranking factor in mobile search results.

Your site may be visible differently to google on mobile & pc, check google tools if the robot uses full mobile data or no (mobile indexing).

Regarding "too wide" thing - check your css in developers mode eg. in FF.

Not sure that mobile first has rolled out fully for all sites on the web, perhaps some of your competitors haven't been switched yet which creates a difference in SERPS results?
