I informed Jan at WGS this today: "I'd be grateful if you'd let those who need to know that i'll be adding WGS properties to my public blacklist this week. The spam has continued. WGS has done nothing about it. I'll also be announcing this via my news pages which will, of course, go out via Google News. WGS reputation has now gone to **** and I want no part of it."

I have reported the matter to Tex at eCOGRA - here's hoping they do the right thing. Let's find out...

Hi, Tex

Hope you are well.

I'm sorry to report that an eCOGRA member (Wagershare) have apparently gone 'rogue' and are spamming the bejesus out of everybody and everybody. It definitely appears to be internally authorised and therefore IMHO their eCOGRA seal should be withdrawn or suspended.

The issue is being discussed over at GPWA. Strong action from yourselves is required to show that this action is not acceptable.

I am in the process of removing Wagershare from CasinoBeacon.co.uk and replacing their brands with non-spamming casinos. I will also be issuing a news report about this - it will be distributed via Google News for a wider audience to see.

I have edited the original post to disable the link....

Are you sure this isn't a rogue affiliate?

It's quite possible it IS an affiliate, Rick - but WGS know it's happening and clearly have no problem with it. Jan has stopped replying to me via MSN when I try to discuss the issue.

They've gone to the dark side and I'm gutted.

Here's my exchange with Jan @ Wagershare this morning - speaks for itself.

Hi, Jan.
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
Morning Rob
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
I've been hit with the spam again so I'm removing all WGS brands today and adding them to the public blacklist - I have no choice.
WGS have cleary gone to the dark side and I can't have any part in that. I've reported the matter to eCOGRA.
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
sorry man, I see your position, but you have to understand that I cant track that affiliate down unless I actually see the spam - I need the tracking number they are using.
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
WGS is all over gpwa
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
It can either be an affiliate or some media deal where they should only be sending to opt-in email lists, I wont know until I am able to research.
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
not just me
you guys (not your personally, granted) are allowing this
your reputation has totally tanked
Ruby Royal Casino reported the matter to you as well - NUMEROUS times.
this has clearly come from the tp
top
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
I dont know to be honest, I doubt we are allowing this, we only work with opt-in email lists where its part of some media there where the recievers at some point in time singed up to another service and opted in.
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
dude, i know it's allowed
this affiliate (if it IS an affiliate) isn't doing it for free
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
I dont know what this Ruby Royal Casino is, I cant see the overall daily traffic thats coming thru, I havent got access to that.
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
ruby royal is the genuine casino you were PRETENDING to be when the spam went out
they're pissed off with you
i'm giving them all your spots
i'm recommending others do the same
spammers need kicking out this industry, dude - you're making this industry look like **** - you have LICENCING requirements - be careful
i'll be forwarding the next batch to the gaming commission
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
thats fair enough if terms of taking us down, if you dont want to work with us, thats obviously your choice. All I can say is that we always have media deals going on, and clients have to sign non-spam contract, often its opt-in data and people dont realise they signed up for another service (newsletter, competiton, survery etc etc) and that in the T&Cs of that service its stated that they agree to recieve advertising from 3rd parties.
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
spamming my insurance-related FSA authorises sites is NOT in the t&c
spamming my literary sites is not in the t&c
it's NOT just me, dude - WGS is ALL OVER the 'unethical operators' forum at gpwa
10 years of solid reputation has gone down the shitter in a matter of weeks - people are reporting to you, NO-ONE is being dealt with, the spam continues and there's rarely, if EVER, a way back from this
just hope the short-term players was worth it
Jan @ WagerShare.com says:
I dont know what email adresses of yours where you recieved this, Im just saying, its pretty common that people signed up with one of their emails for some service and forgot about it and then accuse a company of spamming (not only in this industry) as many companies uses those media networks that legally harvest details like that. I dont know if nobody is being dealt with, but I will check with the people who has access to the wagerhare inbox, I know we have had issues with emails bouncing while others are getting thru.
info@casinobeacon.co.uk says:
dude, those are pretty palty excuses - i know damn well i have not subscribed to crappy lists using my FSA-AUTHORISED site e-mails - the e-mails going out are NOT genuine mailers., they are SPAM - they READ like spam, they PRETEND to be from another casino then download your brands
i'll leave it with you - not much more i can add
