1, New Customers, The other two make you complacent and lazy.. they are just as important but new business is always the forefront of sales and generally the other two can be worked with less time needed, IMO

It depends on your business I think. To be successful you have to do all 3 but depending on the business one may be far more important than others. Even using our business, if you promote casinos I think getting new customers is the most important. There is not a lot of loyalty to online casinos. With poker, 2 or 3 may be more important. Poker players can be very loyal and you can make money off of them for years.
When I moved from poker to casinos I was shocked about how little loyalty casino players have. You have to keep turning new players all of the time because if you keep a casino player for even for 1 or 2 more deposits over their first, that is a win.

ok sorry this was not correct for me nr1 is the most important because for any deal that you have you need to send new players.

The most controllable part as an affiliate, and the most important, is No.1 to find new customers in my opinion. To maintain and grow you need to at least offset the number of punters you've already recruited over time who defect and, if you've accumulated a decent sized customer base over time, then you'll need to pedal pretty hard to even stand still.
Whilst the bookies themselves are largely responsible for 2 & 3, depending on the type of site an affiliate can influence retention rates by telling a consistently good story to repeat visitors so that they continue to use that bookmaker. To that end, bookies can also help by not chopping and changing their promotions every 5 minutes!
I'm increasingly of the opinion that where you choose to focus your efforts will also have a huge impact on results. I have accounts with comparable customer numbers recruited over time that have average revenue per user figures that are wildly different, even if you take the odd whale out of the equation. I'm talking a factor of 20 between the best and worst in some instances. So finding new customers for the right bookmaker(s) would actually be my most accurate answer.

All three are important, altough #2 and #3 are facts for me as an affiliate. I should find out which casino's are master in #2 and #3. I prefer sending traffic to them instead of casino's that are master in #1.
I see big differences. Some casino's do not convert as high as others, but if they do convert, customers keep on playing with them. Others are great in converting a click in an account, but not so great in converting an account in deposits or if people deposit, they usually quit if they've lost their money.
I also think that one option does not have to exclude the other options.

Hi. I think all the 3 ways are important as one common way of marketing.
And I would add 4 - advertisement cost saving in comparison with your business rivals.
