Smush It Not Working

WP Smush it is not working anymore. They are offering a 90% discount on another plugin, did anyone else see this today? Is anyone planning on paying for the plugin or is there a way to compress your images manually?

Yes there is, if you download Firebug for Chrome and then download the Google Page Speed plugin, it will automatically optimize your images and offer a link to download it. It's more manual work but works better than Smush.

I thought this was still working, I tried it yesterday and it was fine, its just had an update though?

Someone posted this before.. And since then I have been hooked.. so much quicker than firing up my Gimp software. and lossley compresses.. though it has to be done before upload, I also use a page speed mod on the server which seems to optimize also https://tinypng.com/

So what is the best free alternative to smush.it?
