Spammers dont care if the email is active or not they just keep sending, The type of spam i get is someone selling a service, eg domain names or SEO that requires a personal email to respond, Typical click link spam doesnt even get through my filter

The method recommended could very well get your email address added to a number of blacklists and banned many places.

Exactly who is this reply being sent to? Are you just simply hitting reply and sending? This is wrong on MANY levels since the reply to: email address is very rarely EVER the sender, and quite often it is a random email address that is also a recipient on the list, or just a made up or random email address.

Also, based upon some mail server software, the fact that a single mailer sends multiple emails, such as your suggestion of 20 replies, to the same recipient will often get the sender and the ip blocked or blacklisted. If you do that enough with some of the larger email providers, your mail server could be blacklisted fairly quickly.

Yep, that's what I also do. I can't believe that there are some people out there that find it hard to tell the difference between genuine and dodgy email messages, especially ones that have to do with winning lotto, etc
