Need good software for designing site

Hey guys!
First of all I want to thank everyone for their input on all my stupid questions that I have asked
Is there something better than Frontpage to create websites??
I have a lot of casinos that I'm promoting (or will be),and I need to get all the casinos crammed on my index page without looking like a banner farm and confusing everyone that visits my site.
Help!!

Hi There!!

I have been using FrontPage 2000 for my current site for a year now, I have just started using Dream Weaver for my new site that I am building now.

From what I have been experiencing between the 2 programs is that Dream Weaver is making my life 100% easier. I think it helped me tons to create the new site to look more professional. There are so many extensions available to do advanced designing.

Once the new site is complete, I intend to recreate the techwoman site in Dream Weaver

Dream Weaver is a bit different and will take some getting used to, but is not impossible to learn. I read the help files from beginning to end to familiarize myself with the program. I also followed along with the tutorials included.

I use 1st page from Evrsoft because I don't like all the additions that FP and Dreamweaver put into pages. I try to keep as much java as I can out of pages and don't use Flash at all as active-x is such a security risk. I've got a feeling that I may have to change for casino promotion, or is a "safe surfing" site an advantage.

The other thing that I worry about is all the malware that changes affiliate codes and auto-installing dialers.

On the newest site I am working on, I am using as little special effects as possible. I want it to be browser friendly to most all surfers. So, where I have I frames, there are links to non-frames pages.

Where I have some mouse over buttons, I have an additional text menu on the side.

I am learning from my first site that I need to make it less showy and more functional as well as looking good.

I myself save banners to my server so that I don't have to use the java codes at the aff sites. I also optimize them to decrease the file sizes. Sometimes there are places that I can't avoid it, but it is minimal

As for the malware, or as we call it scumware, there is a great thread in here you should look into. It lists the known casino using the scumware for advertising. We have been battling this issue for quite a while now.

We also try to educate our visitors on what the scumware does and how to remove it. Many don't even know they have it

So, browse through the forum here and you will find tons of info on the scumware

As for Dreamweaver, it seems to be, from what I have noticed the program of choice for most webmasters. I do not put down FrontPage because it is not horrible, there is just so much more you can do with Dreamweaver and it is very easy once you get the hang of it. I am finding that creating a layout is much easier and my html is more accurate.

I noticed that you had got a link to adaware in your scumware section. I've been using SpyBot as it seems to remove a bit more. The Alexa reporting stuff for example. Also regCleanr can give you some pointers to stuff left over in the registry.

I keep meaning to set up a packet sniffer to see what's going on but keep getting distracted.

I just try to keep it as simple as possible because most visitors are not very tech savy. I think the whole thing scares them. I don't want to scare the pants off of them, just enlighten them and give them a simple remedy. When I get emailed a question on certain spyware that may be difficult to remove, I research it for them and email them the links to pages I have found on the stinking virus.

I get so many thank you emails from my visitors so I know i'm getting the word out. I think you just need to do it in a way that you are comfortable with and that you are knowledgeable about and you will be just fine.

I created a button on for my site with a gator getting squashed, it has some factual info flashing on it. They can go directly to lavasoft to get the adaware software.

You can do something similar which you could direct to a page with more info and different links to different programs or directly to the program that you choose. I bet you get an occasional email from a visitor thanking you

I started www.computerthreats.com while I was trading on Ebay. I ended up sometimes spending an evening getting rid of a virus for someone and then they would just disappear without even a thank you or saying it worked. Of course there were a few that said thanks, but most couldn't be bothered so I stopped maintaining the site.

Dreamweaver is very good especially if you plan to use a database.
