    Default Blogspot Backlinks

    Hi -

Anyone else being plagued by blogspot backlinks? Hotlinking images and also linking to the images from the 3rd party page they are embedded into. I don't suppose it has any negative consequences but is a nuisance sifting through when looking at reports in AHREFs. Any ideas how to prevent this happening?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Yep same problem. I don't believe it will cause any issues other than making Ahref's annoying to use but it would be interesting to see other people's views.

    Try it like this: http://prntscr.com/153b136

Ahrefs has a backlinks tool update Version 2. There you can filter these unnecessary links. The report will become more beautiful.)

Is there anywhere I can report these blogspots in bulk to Blogger / Google (not disavow).

Yup, clean up the blogspot links in your AHREFS disavow (and be sure to upload to Google disavow, as this gives them more ammo to make those links useless/non-negative SEO) and they disappear from your view!

I would also recommend to disavow these kind of links. I'm not sure it really hurts your SEO but you could try disavow this and get a positive boost. I saw a few examples like this and it works really well.

Dissawoved in Google searchche console - they will stay in the report ahrefs, and the casionmark question was exactly the same. ) So, only filtering the report will help

I don't trust disavow considering Google states "try to remove the links yourself". A bit of a joke when it's coming from their own properties.

One feature I wished ahrefs had is the ability to perform and save advanced searches as default.

It would be easy to just remove them from view if you could filter out: *.blogspot.com + image link.

Don't trust Google Disavow how exactly?

    Don't trust it to work?
Don't trust what they do with the disavow information?
    Other?

    Please elaborate!

If you can negative SEO a large percentage of your competitors down half a spot in the SERPs on every term they rank for... you win?

    I dunno, just my guess.

As much as I've looked, I've hardly ever seen a case of a competitor being downgraded because of links. At least the last 5 years....

I do not delete links at all. I'll explain why: they still have a reference weight and Google keeps track of that. It either doesn't index or doesn't count. I personally think that Google doesn't care about anchors.

Even spammy ones? What if there are links from porn and other sites?
