New GPWA Portal Directory Features

I'm pleased to announce that today we have rolled out a number of improvements to our GPWA portal site directory (click on the "Approved Portals" or "Member Portals" items in the pulldown list under "Portals" in our top navigation).

We now use the Mozscape API to obtain Linkscape information about portal sites. Included in the new information we obtain is the number of links to a site, the Domain Authority of the site, and the Page Authority of the home page of the site.

We also now allow you to sort the directory of portal sites by the number of links to the site, or by what we call the site authority of the site (the smaller of the Domain Authority of the site or the Page Authority of the home page of the site).

We've also changed the portal directory to be sorted by site authority by default rather than by traffic rank.

A detailed description of Domain Authority can be found on the SEOmoz website at: www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/domain-authority. Fundamentally, Domain Authority represents SEOmoz's best prediction about how a website will perform in search engine rankings. Domain Authority can be used to compare one site to another or to track the “strength” of a website over time.

We automatically detect when updated Linkscape information is available (that happens about once a month), and automatically update the information displayed in the portal directory to be current. Eventually our hope is to provide individual GPWA members with information about how the metrics for their own sites have changed over time.

Just a quick note to say that we have now also added the new portal site metrics to GPWA member pages for the portals associated with the member.

We've now gone through a monthly update cycle, so the new values for domain authority and number of links compiled at the end of December are now displayed for portal sites.

Also, we have now display the number of external links for a site, and you can sort member site listings by the number of external links as well.

We don't have a record that either free-lucky-casino.com or free-lucky-bingo.com was awarded the Seal of Approval. We do have you noted as a private member and have the sites listed in the member directory and on your member page, but the Seal is a different review process than the membership application.

I will ask GPWA Nancy to review your www.free-lucky-casino.com and www.free-lucky-bingo.com for the Seal.

I will look through my old emails as I thought I definitely was a long time ago, I'm sure I remember getting the email with the directions on how to add the seal etc & I just never placed the seal on my site, thanks... edit just had a look & I think I'm losing it, only found the private membership emails
