Hi Aidan,
I'll chuck in my thoughts for you (I'm not an expert though!)
Design.
1. It's very Grey! when you look out the window in the morning and see a grey sky you don't hang around to look at it for ages and it rarely puts a smile on your face.
2. Call to actions. Apart from the William Hill banner right at the bottom I, as someone visiting your website, wouldn't really know where to click to take me to a bookmakers site. You have the massive Bet at Home ad on the right hand side as well but I think it's way to big and would be better replaced with a table of bet offers or something like that
3. Home page content. You need people to know within a few seconds what your website is about otherwise they will just leave and I didn't really get it, the layout is confusing and there is no real text. Are you a tipping website? Are you a bookies comparrison site? You really need to decide on your niche and hammer that home to your visitors.
Content.
I'm still building my site and before I tohught about the design I wrote content and lot's of it. These day's you simply won't rank with a wafer thin site like that and Google hates them as well so you can probably expect penalties.
I don't mean any of this to get you down or put you off because just by getting something online you have acheived more than a lot of people who want to get into this game, I just think you need to have a bit of rethink about a lot of it and remember that it takes time a lot of time. I have been writing content for months and will now spend several more months on the design.
Good luck with it though and hope it all works out for you
