I am also thinking of starting a newsletter. I have some experience in running a non-gambling newsletter. A newsletter can significantly increase the traffic only if it is interesting and up to date, which means lot of work.

Yes, it really needs a lot of work. It takes me all day to prepare a high quality newsletter, usually I do that at the end of the week.

I have a newsletter that I send out on a weekly basis, and I find the conversion rates are excellent, as long as it has quality CONTENT in it, and is not just all about promoting sites.

With a good mixture of content and "up to date" promotions, you can have an excellent ratio of the amount of people that actually read your newsletter, and to further that, the people that will use your affiliate banners to sign up for certain online gaming sites.

Also, I think it is very important for your newsletter to promote quality online gaming sites and work with reputable affiliate programs. By keeping your players happy, and keep them up to date, this can be a very very good way of promoting your site, your programs, and keep in contact with prospective players.
