Default The (Not so) Official, Post-LAC Thread.

Personally, LAC this year is turning out to be the best/most productive conference I have been to in the 3 years I have been in this role. I took it easy on the beer front, opting for early nights and fresh mornings on the booth.

The Friday especially, was very busy. We met many new affiliates, as well as meeting up with our existing partners and friends.

The fun part is over and now the real work begins . I have a feeling we will be doing follow ups deep in to next week.

Was it a productive conference for you guys and girls?

What were the highlights and lowlights for you?

Thanks to the iGB/Clarion team, looking forward to Amsterdam

Agreed. Although we weren't in the best spot, I think I spoke to more people the second day than the first. I feel like I had less meetings than in past years, but I feel like my meetings were more productive.

Now that I'm home I'm sick though, so might take me a bit longer to get back to everyone this week.

Good seeing everyone and looking forward to Amsterdam!

Yes, a good LAC this year, despite coming down with a cold which is doing the rounds. The beer to freshness trade-off thus worked well for me too. It seems that the number of celebrities attending LAC is on the rise year-on-year!

yeah i was in bed by 8.30pm friday night because of that. in my 35 years of living on this planet I don't think I've known so many people to come down with the same cold in such a short period of time

I also have a cold, it didn't come on until the last day. I'm not sure if that's fortunate or unfortunate, with me being back in the office the day after.

I can neither confirm nor deny if it's true. But I had trouble sleeping that night.

Not so busy this time around but ye it happens.

To be honest wasn't impressed at all with the official events the Saturday event where we stood in the rain for hours to try get into the venue was very disappointing had affiliates turned away.

Other than that the organization was great as usual from the IGB guys.

agree with that overall but wish just one year they'd have proper organisation on the door of the first day so people can get in who have pre registered and not fight in. I know the score so just fought my way in but sure there was first timers stuck in the queue that didn't need to be.

pre-reg was a bit of a unorganised mess as well, although did go smoothly once people direct you to the right area

You had trouble sleeping because you were sat in the bar till 6am, no other reason.

Oops, I'd had that cold for the week running up to the conference. Hope I didn't infect you all! Maybe I shouldn't have sneezed in so many peoples faces....

Actually thought it was one of the best, had a bit more of a chilled vibe than last year. Although there were definitely a lot less snacks - where were the crepes!

I think some of this was out of the hands of the iGB guys and the bag searches were put in place due to the high/severe threat levels to terrorism in London. Obviously the bag searches slowed things up but I didn't really mind that. It delayed me getting to the booth but it is what it is.

Overall a top job was done and we had a very good LAC.

wasn't that, it was just everyone had blocked the doors so you had to fight in, they should of had 2 different clear queues, one for people pre-reged and one for people that hadn't. happens every year

Apologies if this is taking the thread slightly off topic but I'm hoping to be in a position to attend one of these events by next year and was wondering how exactly they work.. Do you have to pay for tickets?

It sounds like a fantastic way to learn and build connections.

if you are an affiliate you can just register and go for free. they are a bit overwhelming at first but you soon find your feet and normally they are well worth it, even if it's for learning and getting ideas
